The POVVER Trust unfurled by a few members of dedicated social workers in June 1998 and registered under Tamil Nadu Trust Act in February 1999. Our institution is taking efforts to be a supportive body to the government’s efforts in all spheres of human development and peace apart from generally working for community development.
The Trust based at Kanniyakumari extending services to the whole Kanniyakumari District of Tamil Nadu, India. Our objects are compulsory school education to all children, empowering women economically and socially, career guidance and steering towards right direction the youth force, care taking elders, comfortable health to all.
On this way of journey to development we execute strategies of running crèches, education help like free note books and uniforms to the needy students, approach correspondents of colleges and conquer education at free of cost to the students who drop out for want of finance. On the other side, convergence training and financial linkages to the women in SELF HELP GROUPS (SHGs) with BANKS and financial institutions like RMK for assisting their economical endeavours of earning for boosting the family income and thus they themselves depend confidently upon. We have been approved by TNCDW for undertaking to give training and other developmental activities to the SHGs.
Furthermore, the youth are inculcated proper know-how and guided for promoting selfemployment enterprise which uplifts duel way them and their nation, averts unwanted thoughts and deeds of youth. We run Old Age Home and provide counselling, shelter, food and clothing and other amenities and assist micro economical activities of old aged living with their family. POVVER is acting as the member in the District committee for the welfare and maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizen. Also member in Block Level Committee for Child Protection. Various health care and hygiene
promoting activities allied with various sources like Government and Social bodies are also executed.
